Nina Bumbalkova is a Prague-born, London-based visual artist, film director, and cinematographer whose work bridges the realms of photography and film. After earning her Master’s degree in Photographic Studies from the University of Westminster, Nina delved into creating powerful visual narratives, focusing on social themes such as housing, social status, and the traces people leave behind.
Her work often portrays personal stories through objects and places, exploring the intersections of memory, identity, and society. Nina’s projects have been exhibited and screened internationally, earning recognition for their thought-provoking content and aesthetic depth.
Alongside her artistic practice, Nina has built a diverse career in documentary filmmaking, collaborating with UK-based charities and universities. Her latest film, Footprints in History: Sardinia, created in partnership with Lancaster University historian Alex Metcalfe, sheds light on the medieval history of Sardinia, making complex histories accessible to broader audiences.
